From cosy cots to novelty beds with features such as storage, shelves and functional desks, you can be sure find the right bed for your little one to slumber in.

What are children's beds?

Through different stages in a person’s life, there are only a few things that stay constant. One of those being the necessity of sleep. Children need sleep to aid in their development, but also need a bed that is safe. A person’s needs change over time so it is important to have the right bed for the right age groups. A Children’s oak single bed, for example, is designed to be stylish, hard wearing, and child safe. Children’s beds are also smaller and more practical to allow more space in the bedroom to allow your child the freedom to play.

What kinds of children's beds are there?

Beds for children come in all shapes and sizes, and can add a personal touch to a child’s bedroom. They don’t have to be the children’s oak single bed; they can be made from many children's safe materials and for more than one child.

Bunk bed

Probably the most recognizable child bed, the bunk bed is a space-conscious option for a growing family with limited rooms. They can be made from wood, metal, or a more durable plastic.

Mid Sleeper

If you need a bit more than an oak single bed to deal with storage issues, mid sleeper beds can offer to draw space, shelving, and even a desk. They are raised off the ground by around 3 feet to utilize more vertical space.

Loft Bed

Similar to the mid sleeper, a loft bed, also known as a High Sleeper, uses the vertical to create more space. A loft bed however, is much higher up and would be less suitable for smaller children who may struggle getting up and down the ladder. A loft bed will usually have nothing underneath so is more versatile with what you can do with the space.

Themed beds

Some children are fussier when it comes to going to bed. They may be tired but want to stay up late. Harbouring a more inviting space for your child may actually make them want to go to bed! A themed bed is a fun extension of their personality which makes the bed more of a feature than just somewhere to sleep. Designs such as racing cars or double decker buses can really add to a bedroom.

What kinds of children's beds do Oak Furniture House stock?

Although the name would indicate that Oak Furniture House only deals in oak, they actually offer many alternative materials to suit all needs. Children’s metal framed bunk beds, children's oak single bed, and a cheaper material such as MDF. Oak Furniture House also offer asymmetrical style bunkbeds for when the older of the two children starts to outgrow a small children's oak single bed.

What materials are they made from?

Metal

Sturdy and light, aluminum bed frames are a great choice for a more modern look in your child’s bedroom, but they may start to look tired quicker than solid wood.

Solid Wood

Children's oak single beds are one of Oak Furniture House’s most popular options, due to the high quality and strength solid wood offers. It is more expensive than MDF but offers a much better, more natural finish.

MDF

A Highly manufactured fibrous wood material made from sawdust and glue, MDF is strong, easy to manipulate and cut, and uses recycled materials. It is then finished with a plastic coating to give whatever effect you like, offering a good range of styles for children’s beds.

Why do people look for the best quality children's beds for their children?
